Handheld Creator Introduces Gaming Hybrid to Compete with Mobile RTX 4060 Ti

The laptop named OneXPlayer Super X is capitalizing on the excitement surrounding AMD’s newest high-end APU.

We have previously provided in-depth coverage of the Asus ROG Flow Z13 – as the initial notebook equipped with the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395, it generated considerable buzz.

Now a rival from China is preparing to make waves with the same chip: OneXPlayer is adopting a comparable strategy with its hybrid termed “Super X” and also positions itself as a direct rival to Asus.

2-in-1 device “comparable to a 4060 Ti”

The OneXPlayer Super X is fundamentally a laptop with a 14-inch display. The integrated AMOLED screen boasts a resolution of 2,880 x 1,800 pixels and achieves 100 percent DCI-P3 coverage.

HDR and VRR enhance the display’s capabilities, though the press release lacks any specific information regarding the refresh rate.

Nonetheless, the Chinese producer is highly complimentary of the built-in processor, the aforementioned Ryzen AI Max+ 365:

  • With its 16 Zen 5 cores operating at a base clock rate of three gigahertz (boost: up to 5.1 GHz) and options for 64 or 128 GB of DDR5-8000 RAM, the Super X is already loaded with considerable power.
  • The key issue, however, resides in the integrated graphics unit, the Radeon 8060S with 40 compute units. According to the manufacturer, the performance matches that of an RTX 4060 Ti in its laptop variant – a claim we were also able to verify during our evaluation of the Asus ROG Flow Z13.

The mentioned APU is expected to utilize the full 120 watts of power continuously. This will necessitate sufficient cooling, which the manufacturer intends to achieve via a vapor chamber cooling system.

The battery capacity of 83.5 Wh is similarly optimistic, but there is no information regarding battery life. OneXPlayer has not revealed the storage capacity of the M.2 slot.

Much like the Asus device, the OneXPlayer Super X can also be transformed into a tablet. The magnetically attached keyboard can be detached, and a built-in stand facilitates a tabletop mode.

The manufacturer has yet to announce a price or a release date.
