Nvidia Sets a New Benchmark with Unmatched Milestone, as Gaming Takes a Sidebar

Nvidia’s shift from primarily being a gaming hardware manufacturer to becoming an AI-focused company is occurring at an accelerated rate.

This past Wednesday, the firm accomplished a feat that no other entity has achieved: a market capitalization of four trillion dollars.

On Wednesday, the firm’s stock price briefly soared to 164.42 dollars, surpassing the four trillion threshold. By the close of the trading day, it increased by 1.76% to 162.82 dollars, which pushed the market value back below this threshold.

With a market capitalization of 3.97 trillion dollars, Nvidia continues to be the clear frontrunner among the globe’s most valuable companies. In April 2025, Nvidia’s stock price was still under 87 dollars due to customs issues.

The roster of the world’s most valuable firms is led by companies from the United States. In the second to sixth positions are Microsoft (3.74 trillion dollars), Apple (3.15 trillion dollars), Amazon (2.36 trillion dollars), Alphabet (2.15 trillion dollars), and Meta (1.84 trillion dollars), all U.S.-based corporations. The Saudi Arabian Oil Co., which is not a U.S. company, ranks only seventh.

Gaming takes a back seat

The most recent quarterly numbers from Nvidia affirm a trend that has been evident for a while: gaming now contributes approximately ten percent of the group’s overall revenue.

In the first quarter of 2025, Nvidia generated roughly 3.8 billion dollars from the gaming division, while the data center division added 39.1 billion to Group income.

Even the record sales in the gaming sector, which witnessed a 42 percent growth year-over-year, could not alter this scenario.

Development on new graphics cards is ongoing. Nvidia recently introduced the smallest RTX 5000 graphics card, the RTX 5050. According to a leak, Nvidia is also developing three additional graphics cards: RTX 5080 Super, RTX 5070 Ti Super, and RTX 5070 Super.
