**Nintendo President Discusses Challenges in Delivering Switch 2**
In a recent statement to shareholders, Shuntaro Furukawa, the President of Nintendo, addressed the current delivery complications related to the Nintendo Switch 2. Launched on June 5, 2025, in tandem with the highly anticipated Mario Kart World, the console has encountered notable supply obstacles. Despite its limited advancements, the Switch 2 has turned into a tremendous success, with demand significantly surpassing supply since pre-orders initiated.
During the 85th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, Furukawa recognized the continuing delivery challenges, which remain nearly a month post-launch. The console is still in short supply, appearing only sporadically and in restricted amounts across different regions. This issue is not confined to one specific country, as worldwide demand has consistently outstripped hopes.
Furukawa pointed to an underappreciation of demand as a cause for the shortages, indicating that interest in the console had eclipsed forecasts as early as April 2025. To ensure equitable distribution, Nintendo has enacted various lottery procedures within its store, with the upcoming lottery set for July.
Although the situation is gradually improving, many consumers remain oblivious to the behind-the-scenes initiatives aimed at increasing production and hastening deliveries. Furukawa extended his apologies to those impacted, acknowledging that the intense demand took the company by surprise.
As Nintendo strives to rectify these challenges, the gaming community remains enthusiastic about acquiring the sought-after console. The post was originally published on Global Esport News.
