Now Available on Steam: An Exciting Shooter Poised to Take Over This Week

It’s the summer slowdown on Steam – but a mecha shooter eagerly awaited by millions may now take center stage. We present you with the few highlights of the week.

As meteorologists forecast a historic heatwave for early July, the summer drought is also becoming apparent on Steam. Numerous publishers are postponing their major releases, and the assortment of notable new arrivals is surprisingly brief this time.

Nonetheless, the release calendar isn’t entirely barren – and fortunately, there is a genuine beacon of hope that is sure to attract a massive player base at launch. As is customary every Monday, we’ll reveal which games are landing on Steam this hot week.

Highlight of the week: Mecha Break

(Genre: Online shooter – Developer: Amazing Seasun Games – Release: July 2, 2025 (Steam))

During the open beta of Mecha Break in the summer of 2024, the shooter boasted over 300,000 concurrent players, one million Steam wishlists, and nearly 2.8 million global registrations – figures that illustrate just how eager the community is for this game. Now, nearly a year later, these numbers are likely to be even more impressive – and the green light for release has finally been given.

In the free-to-play team shooter, you pilot powerful combat mechs in thrilling 3v3 and 6v6 matches, whether on the ground or in the sky. Each mech variant possesses unique abilities, weapons, and evasive tactics, along with various visuals and gameplay enhancements through unlockable items.

Mecha Break launches as a Free-to-Play title on Steam, and its intense mech battles should ensure that tedium doesn’t creep in during the summer lull.

– Primordialis (Early Access): Have you ever created your own deep-sea monster? In the roguelike Primordialis, you begin as an unremarkable fish and equip yourself with mutations like poisonous tentacles, electric shocks, or explosive spawn to conquer increasingly formidable creatures in the primordial depths. With each triumph, your array of abilities expands, enabling you to explore even deeper into the enigmatic underwater realm.

– Rekindled Trails: In this charming fantasy adventure, you traverse the land of Aurteris as a wandering merchant, guided by a mysterious flame, to reclaim your salvation. You gather resources, restore ruined villages, and must cleverly manage your limited inventory to accomplish missions.

Tuesday, July 1st

– Aura Kingdom: Impact: An MMORPG classic returns with a fresh look. Aura Kingdom: Impact reintroduces the vibrant anime online role-playing game to Steam as a global edition. A new hero type broadens the options, weapon alterations are now permitted at any time, and you can further enhance your loyal companions, the Eidolons, with a revamped system.

As you can see, there isn’t much to be excited about on Steam this week – and looking ahead to next week doesn’t provide any relief. The summer slowdown strikes hard!

But hang tight, as there are already some potential highlights on the horizon: Killing Floor 3 promises cooperative action, the dark Wuchang: Fallen Feathers may please Soulslike enthusiasts – and a new Mafia title is also set to launch in about a month.

Things are improving again. Until then: seek out shade, cool your drinks – and perhaps even take a mech for a spin or two.
