Halo on Helium Launches Swiftly Following Modders' Entry into the Evolved Campaign, Potentially Utilizing AI to Mimic Chipmunk Chief and Cortana

Update: Just two minutes post-publication, I observed that the creator of Halo – Chipmunk Edition has AI-generated music videos available on their YouTube channel. The laugh has been retracted pending additional evidence. Be cautious, as searching for Halo: Campaign Evolved mods is currently a challenge of avoiding or identifying AI usage for those who are reluctant to embrace the technology.

Now that Halo: Campaign Evolved has been fully released, the mods are naturally starting to pour in. While examining some of the initial ones, which feature the standard types of performance and graphical enhancements typical with any new launch, I’ve discovered a few projects that I would categorize as achieving some intriguing or noteworthy feats so far. There’s a mod that claims to enable split-screen co-op that the developers have left hidden in the background, and another that replaces Cortana’s dialogue with lines from the original Combat Evolved. Both of these have utilized AI – Claude in one instance, and OpenAI Codex in the other.

So, I decided to investigate further into the early combat mods that don’t mention any AI in their descriptions. This investigation brought me to Halo – Chipmunk Edition.
