In the final match of the Hearthstone World Championship 2022 event, Bunnyhoppor faced Jack “DeadDraw” Bancroft. The two duked it out against each other in a total of four games before Bunnyhoppor took home the gold after the Priest mirror match.

“I do think this experience has paid off,” Bunnyhoppor said in the post-match interview. “I think like for most of this year, I played really, really, really good Hearthstone.”

He then recalled misplays from years ago, which didn’t help with nerves at the start of the tournament. “At the start of the tournament, I still like, I still get nervous,” he said. “I don’t sleep well and everything. But as the days progressed, I think the plays got a little bit cleaner and I’m super happy.”

DeadDraw and Team Liquid

While Bunnyhoppor won the Hearthstone World Championship 2022 event, fellow Team Liquid player DeadDraw took second place.

“Well, you know we’re teammates and both our competitive contracts are ending,” he said. “So it’s just fitting that we make first and second place together.”

He then acknowledged the group that helped them prepare, those he communicated with, and the level of cooperation involved. Bunnyhoppor also gave a shoutout to his wife and those around him, noting that these folks put a lot of their own time helping him and DeadDraw when they had nothing at stake.

“I think it’s not something I can expect from anyone,” he said. “And I appreciate that.”
