Ring-a-ding-ding, darling! The promotional artwork for the second season is igniting excitement among fans of the role-playing game franchise for a much-anticipated return to New Vegas.
New Vegas stands as the ultimate Fallout game – challenge me! This makes it even more unfortunate that Obsidian hasn’t rolled out a sequel, nor has there been an (official) remake or remaster. However, we will find ourselves back in the post-apocalyptic city of sin in 2025 when season 2 of the Fallout series debuts on Amazon Prime Video.
What to anticipate from season 2 of Fallout
The conclusion of the first season already laid the groundwork for this when Hank MacLean (Kyle MacLachlan) escaped across the Mojave Desert – with Lucy MacLean (Ella Purnell) and the Ghoul (Walton Goggins) right on his trail, of course.
Since that moment, the tension for New Vegas enthusiasts has been nearly intolerable, with a plethora of questions accumulating: How well has the city fared over the years? Who governs the Strip? Are the NCR and Caesar’s Legion still active? Will the Courier even show up? And which ending of New Vegas is considered canon?
We’ll likely only find answers to these queries when Season 2 of Fallout kicks off in December 2025 – a precise release date has yet to be confirmed.
It’s headed to New Vegas, baby!
But at least now we have IGN sharing an exclusive first poster for the forthcoming season that has us all pondering New Vegas. Ain’t that a Kick in the Head? The following elements can already be spotted on it:
- Lucy the Ghoul, Maximus (Aaron Moten), and CX404 are returning. For some reason, they appear to be moving away from New Vegas, but that likely just looked cooler for the poster.
- The New Vegas sign resembles (almost) exactly its depiction in the game. A few minor details are absent, likely due to the post-apocalyptic climate, but otherwise, it stays true to the original.
- Maximus dons a bomber jacket that will be recognizable to players of Fallout 4. The Steel Brotherhood dresses sharply, and Maximus has clearly been outfitted with one too.

Fallout: Season 3 is already underway
By the way, Fallout has already been officially renewed for a third season. The TV series directed by Jonathan Nolan, Geneva Robertson-Dworet, and Graham Wagner has certainly resonated not just with critics but also with the audience.
Season 2 arrived relatively swiftly, especially considering the occasionally long and exhausting release intervals between seasons of contemporary TV shows. Fallout premiered in April 2024, and now the second season is set to arrive a little over a year later!
