Dune Awakening: Specialist Shares Awesome Tip Following 70 Hours of Gameplay in the MMO

The online adventure set on the desert planet has already drawn in over 180,000 players. Among them is our specialist Michał, who has a lot to share.

With the current summer warmth, many are seeking ice-cold drinks and ample shade. Our colleague Michał Mańka, however, feels quite the opposite. On our freshly launched international YouTube channel [Find Your Next Game](https://www.youtube.com/@FYNG_GameStar), he discusses why he has already dedicated over 100 hours to playing **Dune: Awakening**.

The desert MMO is presently a significant hit. According to [SteamDB](https://steamdb.info/app/1172710/charts/), **over 189,000 players** have already been playing concurrently in the expansive sandbox of Arrakis.

This prompts a few inquiries: **What makes Dune: Awakening so enjoyable? Where are the drawbacks?** And what insights did Michał gain after 70 hours?

We spoke with Michał and obtained all the answers to these questions.

## Something for all tastes

With more than 100 hours under his belt, the fundamental question is: **”What keeps you engaged for such an extended period in Dune: Awakening?”**

[…] The truth is, numerous players hunting for various activities find exactly what they seek in this game. If you’re in search of a survival game, you’ll discover plenty here because the MMO adheres to the brutal laws of Arrakis.

If construction is your preference, you can build your own base. The tools are user-friendly, yet they allow you to create impressively attractive structures.

And for those who enjoy role-playing components, there is a solid skill tree available, enabling you to create distinct builds with your character, whether you prefer melee or ranged combat.

Lastly, it’s simply an exceptionally executed Dune game— the developers truly grasp what it entails to develop a game in this universe. It’s a whole lot of fun!

## The greatest advantage and the greatest drawback

With the enthusiasm of a vibrant desert worm, we promptly ask Michał the next question: **”In your expert view, what is the greatest advantage of Dune: Awakening – and what is its most significant flaw?”**

I believe the greatest advantage is that all of the elements mentioned earlier are seamlessly integrated, and as a result, the game presents itself as a comprehensive experience. The developers react quite quickly to player feedback, experimenting and assessing various solutions to find the appropriate balance between PvP and PvE areas within the Deep Desert [the endgame region].

For me, the most significant drawback is the balance between PvP and PvE in the Deep Desert. This week, four friends and I opted to explore the Deep Desert to gather resources in the PvE zones. However, we felt there was virtually nothing for a group that didn’t want to engage in PvP battles.
I don’t mind that this area is divided into PvP and PvE – there merely needs to be a better solution for it.

We’ve all experienced it: you invest dozens of hours in a game and suddenly stumble upon a new game mechanic that simplifies your experience. **Michał has a tip for you that took him an impressive 70 hours to uncover on Arrakis.**

I have a crucial suggestion for anyone just starting with Dune: Awakening: **You don’t need to remove everything from your vehicle’s inventory to store it in containers!**

I only figured this out after 70 hours of gameplay, and many other players appear to have missed it too. Instead of hauling everything with you in your backpack, you can simply access your storage container and select the vehicle inventory from the drop-down menu on the left. From there, you can efficiently transfer items between a vehicle and your base.

**Another vital piece of advice from me: take your time**. I know everyone desires immediate access to sandbikes, buggies, ornithopters, and sand crawlers, but exploring Arrakis, building a sustainable base, and gradually unlocking everything is incredibly rewarding, and you shouldn’t rush through it.

By the way, the first significant DLC for Dune: Awakening, titled Lost Harvest, is projected for release between October and December 2025. It will introduce a new side story and additional cosmetic items to the game.

Have you had a chance to explore Dune: Awakening? How many hours does your desert timer indicate? Are you enjoying it as much as Michał, or is the MMO constantly throwing sand in the gears of your gaming enjoyment? Feel free to share your thoughts on the game in the comments!
