Beyond Wolverine: PlayStation Studio Insomniac Working on Additional Exclusive Games

A developer profile ignites fresh speculation

Since the initial teaser in 2021, excitement has been mounting for Marvel’s Wolverine. The trailer, featuring Logan quietly seated at a counter, provided ample room for creativity – not just among enthusiasts, but evidently also within Insomniac Games.

As it has now come to light through a LinkedIn profile of a concept artist, the renowned studio is engaged in not only Wolverine but also two additional, yet-to-be-announced projects. What’s especially thrilling is that the developer previously contributed to Spider-Man 2, bringing a significant level of expertise to the project.

This revelation stems from investigations by DualShockers and is currently generating buzz within the community. Which titles might be in the works? And what implications does this have for the Wolverine launch?

Marvel’s Wolverine – and what Insomniac is still concealing

The studio has yet to make an official statement regarding the projects, yet the timing has sparked speculation. After all, there were whispers that Wolverine might debut as soon as 2024. Now, by mid-2025, there are no indications of this – and the addition of new projects could delay the timeline.

It is also notable that the situation appears quite transparent internally: anyone who secured an internship at Insomniac this summer will actually be involved with Wolverine. The studio speaks of “pushing the limits of gaming” collectively.

What is currently known about the title offers fans optimism: Wolverine is reported to be darker and more mature than earlier Marvel games. Madripoor, a semi-criminal island from the X-Men universe, is also being discussed as a possible location.

However, what lies behind the two undisclosed projects remains unclear – at least officially. Those familiar with Sunset Overdrive or Ratchet & Clank from the past recognize that Insomniac is consistently full of surprises.
