Microsoft has officially revealed the development of the upcoming generation of Xbox consoles, furthering its partnership with AMD to design custom chips. This collaboration will also cover the creation of Xbox handheld devices alongside Asus and AMD. The integration with Windows will be enhanced, with the intention of establishing a more open platform. Xbox President Sarah Bond mentioned that the new Xbox will facilitate gaming across various devices and retailers, suggesting potential compatibility with platforms such as Steam. This is in line with earlier statements by Phil Spencer, head of Microsoft’s gaming division, regarding the inclusion of PC gaming platforms in Xbox. The Xbox team is collaborating closely with Microsoft’s Windows team to ensure Windows maintains its status as a top gaming platform. The aim is to deliver a flexible gaming experience that is not restricted to a single device or retailer.
