In a video there were exciting news about the upcoming life simulation. For example, we now know more about how neighbourhoods and hair tools look like

Project Rene, better known as The Sims 5, has surprisingly presented a few more insights. In the livestream of EA it was actually about the expansion Horse Ranch for The Sims 4 – but also a bit about the upcoming successor.

For example, an early version of the neighbourhoods was shown, as well as details about the lighting, hair tools and animations. We have all the important information for you!

What was shown about The Sims 5?

You can see the complete video here on YouTube, it lasts about 15 minutes and is mainly about the above mentioned Sims 4 expansion. The Sims 5 info starts at minute 11:40 If you don’t have time to watch, we’ll summarise everything you need to know right below.

Neighbourhoods: What can be seen in the video from 12:23 onwards are of course not yet the final Sims neighbourhoods – in this early version, Among-Us figures are still floating around…. But the prototype is still an exciting glimpse, for example certain buildings can already be recognised (such as a bistro and a multi-storey office).

Hair-Tools: From minute 13:06 we briefly talk about hair styling. In The Sims 5 you will have more tools than ever to customise your Sims hairstyles. In the video, you can see freely customisable colour gradients.

(You shall be able to customise the colours and positions of such gradients.)

Lighting: From minute 11:46 in the video, the developers briefly talk about the lighting of The Sims 5, which is supposed to contribute a lot to the atmosphere. The game once again gets a day-night cycle, which can be seen very briefly. In addition, differently lit interiors can be seen.

Animations: Starting at minute 12:06, Animation Director Nawwaf talks about how the Sims will be brought to life. The animations are to be under the motto “Read the Room”, which specifically means: your Sims are to show how they feel with their body language. An insecure Sim shakes hands differently than a confident Sim.

Sims fans! How excited are you for Project Rene / The Sims 5? Do you like the new info snippets about neighbourhoods, hair styling, animations and so on? Or would you prefer that the developers only release reveals when there is final gameplay to see? Feel free to write us in the comments.
