Supermassive Games, creators of well-known games like “Until Dawn” and “The Dark Pictures Anthology,” have revealed the initiation of redundancy consultations that could impact as many as 75 employees. This announcement follows closely after the launch of their newest horror adventure, “Directive 8020,” and mirrors similar job reductions that took place in July of the last year. The studio, located in the UK, had previously dismissed around 90 employees in early 2024. This pattern of job reductions contributes to the increasing number of layoffs in the gaming sector over recent years, underscoring the persistent difficulties faced by developers in sustaining workforce stability in light of changing market demands.
