"Dragon Age: Origins wasn’t the most visually appealing game": The former series producer from BioWare thinks a DA remaster trilogy has potential, but the necessary skills are missing.

Former producer of the Dragon Age series, Mark Darrah, has recently expressed his views on the possibility of a remaster or remake of the original Dragon Age trilogy. Darrah suggests that such a venture would likely be a commercial hit, considering the lasting appeal of the series and the outdated graphics of the original titles, which he wryly likens to a “toilet bowl in a Silent Hill game.” Nevertheless, he also indicates that the chances of this occurring are slim due to significant technical hurdles. The earlier RPGs in the franchise rely on proprietary technology that current developers, both inside and outside of BioWare, do not fully grasp. This gap in technical expertise presents a substantial barrier to any potential remastering initiatives. Despite this, enthusiasts of the series can still relish the games through various mods that sustain the Dragon Age universe while the franchise remains in a state of ambiguity under EA’s oversight.
