A special Tavern Brawl that serves as an innovative Hearthstone marketing tool? Check out Power of Magic Tavern Brawl.

Hearthstone weekly Tavern Brawls are usually a one-time stop where players collect their free pack and go on with their lives. However, this time things might be different with “The Power of Magic” Tavern Brawl. Let’s go over this new iteration of Hearthstone’s famous Tavern Brawls.

“The Dark Flight are out to capture the magic of Azeroth. Discover the magic within to defeat the forces of evil.”

The Power of Magic Hearthstone Tavern Brawl

The Hearthstone team has surprised us all with a new Tavern Brawl. In this weekly event, you can choose four different Heroes to face Wicked Prince Kale’thas. The available classes are Warlock, Priest, Paladin and Druid, all of them featuring the special “Magic of Azeroth” skins.

Despite this Hearthstone Tavern Brawl being a PvE experience, don’t be too confident. The battle isn’t as easy as it seems Kaelt’has is a known mana cheater and will start with 3 extra Mana Crystals. But don’t worry, you are not alone.

Your deck contains Magic of Azeroth cards that let you discover free spells when drawn. Use them to turn the tides in your favor. Nozdormu will also play a relevant role in evening up the Mana Crystal count. Use it wisely. Finally, don’t think Paladin is in a better spot here than in the Standard meta, probably you want to avoid it if you are looking for a quick win.

A new way of delivering content

The Power of Magic Hearthstone Tavern Brawl tries to tell the Magic of Azeroth story that inspired the Battlegrounds Season 2 update. While it still gives one free pack, it has some replayability with the different Heroes it offers.

Blizzard has been implementing different ways of delivering Hearthstone content, but this is the first time I can recall they use a Taven Brawl for that. The skins featured in the Power of Magic Tavern Brawl are right now in the Hearthstone shop, and the weekly event is serving as a promotional one.

The pize range goes from 1000 to 1500 Runestones, which is equivalent to $10 to $15. Prizes may vary for different regions, but one thing is certain, players can only acquire these cosmetics via Runestones.

While the new Hearthstone currency has not been welcomed, it seems that Blizzard has no intention of changing its initial implementation. One of the benefits that Runestones would present is a broader offer of skins and other small items. These skins, however, are bundles that existed before Runestones.

As a content creator and Hearthstone fan, I welcome the new Tavern Brawl, and I applaud the intent of using it as a marketing tool as well. If the game makes money, the game will keep developing, or at least that is what I try to believe.

That is all for now, but stay tuned to Esports.gg for more Hearthstone news and updates. See you next time in the Tavern.
