Last night, on the 6th of September, the World Series of Warzone (EU) ended in as memorable a way as possible. With one of the cleanest sweeps imaginable, Italian Warzone player, Nicolo ‘BBlade’ Maggi secured the top spot in both the Trios and the SoloYolo categories. He walked away with $117,000 in prize money and stole the tournament crown from Scump, who won the event last year in remarkable fashion.

In 2021, Scump beat down an entire lobby of the world’s greatest Warzone players to secure the $100k SoloYolo victory. While he’s back on the world stage for the NA Finals today (7th Sept), he’ll have a serious amount of work to do to take the limelight away from BBlade. For the Italian streamer, this was a career-making win, and the prize money comes second to the knowledge that he’s the best Warzone player in the EU region.

SoloYolo Does It Again

Last year, one of the monumental Call of Duty moments came when Scump beat Aydan in a 1v1 for the WSoW SoloYolo prize. It was an intense moment that served as one of the last key events to ever take place on the Verdansk map. It was just weeks later that Caldera launched and proceeded to almost kill Call of Duty: Warzone.

This year, at the EU Finals portion of the World Series of Warzone, BBlade mirrored Scump’s closing manoeuvres from 2021. He deployed a double stun tactic, which is exactly what Scump did to win, disorienting his opponent and moving in to grab the kill. He did so whilst stunned himself, and his opponent was both obscured and carrying a shield. It was a dramatic moment when the final shots landed home and BBlade jumped up from his chair, screaming in jubilation.

You can experience BBlade’s win first-hand, right here:

However, it doesn’t end there for BBlade, as earlier on, he’d also stormed to victory in the EU Finals Trio category. With Waartex and Savyultras90, BBlade beat thirty-nine other teams to the punch, going on a spree with his squad that saw him secure the $50,000 prize by just 0.5 points. It was a phenomenal tournament all around for BBlades, who made history in the space of just a few hours.

What’s Left of The World Series of Warzone?

Now, the World Series of Warzone 2022 season approaches its end. It’s far from over, as North America’s best Call of Duty players prepare to descend onto the battlefield in the NA Finals. Once again, we’ll see a Trios and a SoloYolo event, both of which offer up a combined prize pool of $300,000.

There are forty teams entering the five-map bout, all of them storied competitors in the Call of Duty space. At the top of the expectations table sits the likes of Fifakillz, Blazt, Scump, Huskerrs, Aydan, ZLaner, and Tommey, all extremely capable players. This is arguably the biggest esports tournament in the Warzone space, and all eyes will be on the many streams that will be hosted today, September 7th.
