I’ve heard that some of you haven’t yet jumped into Marathon. Perhaps extraction shooters don’t appeal to you, or there isn’t enough about Bungie’s title to entice you away from your preferred shooter, or possibly you’re just fed up with a specific segment of the internet blabbering about Marathon as if it’s the ultimate multiplayer experience. If you identify with that last group, I have excellent news for you. Bungie is launching Marathon Season 2 with a free week. Notably, this free week aligns with an account reset for all players, so while you’ll be facing opponents who have spent a few months in Marathon already, they won’t be equipped with any of their prime gear or high-level skills.
(It’s also an ideal opportunity to experience a genuinely excellent shooter that you may have been curious about.)
