European Commission Commits to Address Killing Games Petition Regarding Server Closures "Prior to Summer"

Following a public session at the European Parliament in Brussels last month, European lawmakers have revisited the petition from the Stop Killing Games campaign aimed at enhancing consumer protections regarding online game server closures today, May 21st. This recent discussion occurred during a plenary meeting of the European Parliament in the French city of Strasbourg.

As is customary, a variety of politicians expressed differing opinions on the matter and the type of measures that might be required in response. A spokesperson from the European Commission also addressed the assembly, assuring that a response to the petition they are currently preparing will be delivered “before the summer.”
