High on Life, the comedic FPS title announced during the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase earlier this year, has become Xbox Game Pass’s biggest launch of 2022. It was also the biggest 3rd party launch in Game Pass history, and the biggest-ever single-player game launch on Game Pass.

High on Life is developed by Squanch Games and was released on December 13 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows (Steam and Epic Games Store). Squanch Games was created by Justin Roiland (Co-Creator of Rick & Morty) and High on Life shares a similar style to the popular series. The story centers around the main character who has set out to become an intergalactic bounty hunter and uses talking guns for the same. Players can travel to different biomes and encounter various characters.

“This was our first time launching a game with Game Pass,” said Mike Fridley, Studio Director and COO of Squanch Games, “and we’ve been blown away by the response from the players who have made us the most popular game on Game Pass right now. When Squanch Games was first created, it was to make the games we wanted to play – and Game Pass is helping us reach the players that want to play those games too.”

The game is popular on Steam as well. Since its release, it has been reviewed by over 4,000 players and most reviews (over 90%) are positive.
