Intel’s newest products, the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and Core Ultra 5 250K Plus, represent a concerted attempt to tackle the limitations of the initial Arrow Lake/Core Ultra 200S series. While the Core Ultra 200S lineup focused on energy efficiency and reduced thermal output relative to the 14th Gen models, it did so by compromising gaming capabilities—an essential element for gaming CPUs. The updated Core Ultra 200S Plus processors, referred to as the Arrow Lake Refresh, strive to improve gaming performance by providing enhanced speeds with a restructured architecture that reduces latency. Although these processors are affordable and adept at multitasking, they still trail behind AMD’s leading chips in gaming performance and find it challenging to outpace Intel’s earlier 14th Gen processors.
