Skyblivion Project Leader Commends Advancement of Enormous Oblivion Remake Mod in Initial 2026 Exhibition

The Skyblivion team, known for their ambitious mod initiative intending to recreate The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion utilizing The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’s engine, has recently presented late-stage Mages Guild quests during their first significant livestream following the announcement of a project release delay. Originally expected in 2025, the project has now been rescheduled to 2026. Nonetheless, project lead Kyle ‘Rebelzize’ Rebel has reassured fans that Skyblivion is “in a great place” and the team is dedicated to launching it “as soon as possible.”

The announcement of the delay last year came after a public comment from a previous level and world designer who remarked that the 2025 release target was “unattainable.” This former developer also criticized Rebel and Skyblivion’s implementation lead, Heavy Burns, for inadequate communication management within the team. In retaliation, Heavy Burns denied these claims, asserting that “many” of the assertions were “either misrepresented or simply false.”

In spite of these obstacles, the Skyblivion team continues to advance, with the latest livestream offering insight into the project’s development and the detailed work necessary to transition the cherished world of Oblivion into the Skyrim engine. The community remains enthusiastic and supportive, eagerly awaiting the finalization of this extensive mod remake.
