Star Wars: Galactic Racer's Creative Director Thinks That Innovating in Racing Games is More Difficult Than in Other Genres

Star Wars: Galactic Racer, created by Fuse Games, is an exhilarating new entry in the racing game category, situated within the legendary Star Wars universe. This game presents a novel perspective on offroad speeder competitions, echoing the thrilling gameplay similar to that of Motorstorm: Pacific Rift. In a recent discussion, Fuse founder Matt Webster and creative director Kieran Crimmins talked about the game’s unique boost mechanics, which are affected by environmental temperature, introducing a tactical element to the racing adventure.

They also highlighted their choice to pursue a conventional track racer instead of an open-world style. Webster and Crimmins contend that although open-world games can be appealing, the idea has become somewhat clichéd and lacks the originality it once possessed. By opting for a more defined track-oriented design, they intend to provide a more concentrated and captivating racing experience.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer aims to intertwine the excitement of fast-paced races with the extensive lore of the Star Wars universe, making it an eagerly awaited title for enthusiasts of both racing games and the franchise.
