Best weapons in Fortnite Chapter 4
Assault Rifle
Before we get to the nitty gritty of the new weapons, here’s a classic. The AR is unarguably one of the best weapons in Fortnite Chapter 4, yet actually a bit different to the rifle of old. This new one is a fully automatic weapon with a high DPS rate and middle of the track accuracy and damage.
It’s a pretty safe all rounder and generally considered the best gun in the game but you’ll need to consider the range. The damage reaches a minimum damage of 66% at 95 metres.
Thunder Shotgun
This is a brand new weapon to Fortnite chapter and we hope it’s here to stay! It can only fire 2 shots at a time at short range but really, that’s all it needs. That does mean that you’ll need more shells and plans for your reload times.
Old school fans might find it a little reminiscent of the pump shotgun of old, although the fire rate and volume is different. It might not be a replacement, but it’s not far off!
Tactical Pistol
The tactical pistol has all the benefits of an SMG with basically none of the downsides. This will come as great news to those players who struggle with recoil. The pistol is fully automatic and, with common DPS of 156.4, you can’t go far wrong.
It’s worth remembering that you can find Legendary pistols in all chests, supply drops and hole fishing so keep your eye out wherever you look.

Any fan of Fortnite knows that it’s not all about the guns. As well as killing your enemies, you’ll also need to destroy their structures. If you’re playing in build modes, having these weapons in your inventory can make all the difference. That means that these weapons should be playing a role in the new pro meta too!
Shockwave Hammer
Despite being a melee weapon, the Shockwave Hammer is a brand new addition that’s here to stay. Not only does this weapon deal huge melee damage but allows players to bounce around the map at speed, rotate and reposition extremely effectively.
The four bouncer charges recharge automatically over time and are the perfect counter to structures. To find a Mythic hammer, all you need to do is kill the Ageless Champion. Simple, right?
Rocket Launcher
Everyone loves a rocket launcher and the best weapons in Fortnite chapter 4 are no different! After being introduced a while ago, the rocket launcher is back as a firm favorite for those who prefer a slower and easier weapon when taking down buildings. As always, remember to keep your distance so you don’t self damage when firing!
