New Thriller Series Rapidly Rises to No. 2 on Netflix: Begins and Concludes in Just One Afternoon

A fresh thriller series has made its way onto the Netflix charts, slotting in between the major hits Wednesday and Me and the Walter Boys. You can binge-view it in a mere three hours.

For the past few days, there has been a new top contender in the Netflix charts. This is due to the arrival of the second season of the beloved coming-of-age series I and the Walter Boys on the streaming platform, which, similar to its predecessor, has drawn a large crowd. The tough competition from Hostage and Wednesday has fallen to lower positions.

Nonetheless, a new thriller series has now joined the competition, rocketing straight to number 2 in the rankings. It is titled Two Graves and revolves around a retired woman who investigates crimes.

Two Graves at number 2 on Netflix: Here’s what the three-part thriller series from Spain is about

In the Spanish series Two Graves, retiree Isabel (Kiti Manver) is anxious about her granddaughter and her friend, who vanished without a trace two years ago. When the police close the investigation, Isabel takes it upon herself to look into the circumstances of that tragic night. However, what begins as a straightforward search for the perpetrators rapidly transforms into an unyielding pursuit of vengeance for Isabel.

The series is created by Agustín Martínez, who previously worked on Feria: Dark Light and also co-wrote the screenplay here. Co-writer Santos Mercero (Felices 140) collaborated, while Kike Maíllo (Eva) took the director’s role. In addition to Kiti Manver, the cast features Money Heist star Álvaro Morte, Hovik Keuchkerian (The Pit 2), and Nonna Cardoner (The Path).

This thriller series comprises just three episodes and can therefore be consumed in under 150 minutes. In Germany, Zwei Gräber debuted in the Netflix charts at position 2, and it even reached number 1 in 32 countries. In this region, it ranks alongside the following titles in the series leaderboard:

  • 1st place: I and the Walter Boys
  • 2nd place: Two Graves
  • 3rd place: Hostage
  • 4th place: Wednesday
  • 5th place: Love is Blind: UK
  • 6th place: Bon Appétit, Your Majesty
  • 7th place: Ströme des Schicksals (Streams of Destiny)
  • 8th place: Untamed
  • 9th place: Hurricane Katrina: Life After the Flood
  • 10th place: Fit for TV: The Reality of the Biggest Loser
