Excited for Anno 117 to release? Don’t fret! The first demo will be available for you to try in just a few weeks.
Anno 117: Pax Romana won’t actually launch until November 13, but you can experience the city-building game prior! And it’s free, despite limited content and a time frame. It not only seems like a demo, it truly is a demo!
While we showcased exclusive gameplay footage from the Albion region on our FYNG stage, a free PC demo for Anno 117 was revealed simultaneously. And the wait won’t be long!
Key details at a glance
- When will the demo launch? On September 2
- How long will the demo be accessible? Until September 16
- What is the duration of the demo? 1 hour
- Where can I obtain the demo? On Steam and Ubisoft Connect
What you can expect from the demo
If you’re attending gamescom and have visited the Anno booth, you’re already familiar with what’s in store. The content is mostly similar to the demo in Cologne. The only variation is that you can play from the comfort of your own space without annoying wait times.
You can enjoy a total of one hour, after which your present round will be automatically paused. Thus, the demo is constrained by time instead of milestones. If you play efficiently and swiftly, you’ll experience more of the new Anno compared to taking it slow. Naturally, some content may still be entirely absent.
In the demo, you can experience rounds in both Latium and Albion. Latium represents the Roman heartland while Albion embodies the realm of the Celts. We detailed how Albion varies from Latium in a preview. Even with the time limitation, you can restart as many times as you wish. Thus, you may spend an hour in Latium and another in Albion. However, even playing the demo repeatedly from September 2, you’ll eventually hit the limit. On September 16, the demo will vanish. After that, you’ll need to brace yourself and wait another two months for the complete game release. In the meantime, we’ll keep the Anno fans updated here.
