Latest Dark Action RPG from Gamescom Appears Similar to Dante's Inferno 2 at First Sight

La Divina Commedia is a forthcoming action role-playing game drawing inspiration from Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy, particularly the Inferno segment. Unlike the 2010 hack ‘n’ slash title Dante’s Inferno, which was limited to consoles, La Divina Commedia will cater to PC players. Revealed at gamescom during Opening Night Live, this new game delivers a novel take on the classic tale.

Players will be plunged into a tumultuous realm where they must traverse through hell, paralleling the journey depicted in Dante’s original work. They will confront increasingly formidable foes, necessitating looting and character progression. The game offers multiple weapon categories that can be enhanced over time, along with a sin system that shapes character alignment.

In the original Divine Comedy, hell consists of seven tiers, each symbolizing a deadly sin. La Divina Commedia weaves these concepts into its design, influencing both the environment and player attributes. The game will feature procedurally generated dungeons brimming with distinctive loot and obstacles. Gathered resources can be utilized to forge new weapons and armor.

Crafted by Jyamma Games, recognized for Enotria: The Last Song, La Divina Commedia embodies Italian culture and folklore, showcasing a darker ambiance than their past projects. Although a release date has yet to be set, the title is confirmed for PC.
