Developer Supergiant Games has revealed Hades II, a sequel to their award-winning roguelike title Hades. Announced during Game Awards 2022, the developers revealed that Hades II is in development and is a sequel taking place sometime after the events of the original game.

“Hades II is a direct sequel taking place sometime after the events of the original game. No prior knowledge of the original Hades is needed, though there are plenty of connections,” the announcement read.

Take on the god of time in Hades II

The protagonist in Hades II will be Melinoë, the immortal Princess of the Underworld who is an immortal witch and sorceress with powerful magical abilities. Similar to the original game, she’ll have support from different Olympian gods in her quest to defeat Chronos, the Titan of Time. “Chronos, the Titan of Time and the wicked father of Hades and his brothers, has escaped his imprisonment in the depths of the Underworld to wage war on Olympus.”

Supergiant says players don’t need to know anything about the original game or Greek mythology to enjoy this sequel.

Hades II: Supergiant announces sequel to Hades during Game Awards 2022

The game will be a single-player title and it is most likely to be available on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) as well as consoles. The release date and platforms of release will be revealed later.
