Regardless of All, "Keep in Mind, No Pre-Orders," Battlefield 6 is Already Climbing to the Pinnacle of the Steam Bestsellers Chart.

Fans are expressing their concerns about excessive hype and advocating for caution. Still, pre-sales appear to be thriving.

The Battlefield community has turned skeptical—and rightfully so! Following the letdowns of Battlefield 5 and Battlefield 2042 in recent years, a degree of prudence seems to have taken hold.

Consequently, the most-upvoted comment beneath the Battlefield 6 reveal trailer states: “Remember, no preorders.”

This phrase has evolved into a mantra recited like a prayer across Reddit threads and YouTube videos regarding BF6 – the idea is to not get swept away by the excitement and to refrain from pre-ordering from EA.

Battlefield 6 emerges as a top seller

However, in spite of all the (justified) doubt, the marketing approach for Battlefield 6 appears to be yielding results: Over two months prior to its launch, Battlefield 6 is already positioned near the top of Steam’s global bestsellers list.

Even long-standing favorites like Marvel Rivals and eagerly awaited new titles such as Titan Quest 2 are currently falling behind Battlefield 6’s pre-order promotion.

A mere 24 hours post-reveal, Battlefield 6 pre-orders rank #1 on both PS5 and Steam.

The situation mirrors that of the PlayStation Store, where only the latest NBA title is still in contention. In essence, the shooter is already a resounding success.

This is hardly unexpected, as the title has amassed over 16 million views on YouTube in just the past ten days with its thrilling trailers, while favorable predictions from the press and acclaim from the influencer sphere are flooding in.

Is pre-ordering a wise choice?

Simultaneously, pre-order habits show a gap between the skepticism echoed online and the actual buying patterns of consumers.

For every fan who succumbed to the lofty promises of BF2042 and is now calling for caution, there are clearly many others who are swept up in the positive atmosphere and are making pre-orders—sometimes for as much as $100.

After our initial rounds in the beta, we also have numerous positive remarks about Battlefield 6. Nevertheless, we firmly advise against pre-ordering.

Firstly, digital products cannot sell out, which implies that pre-orders without physical bonuses are of limited value. Secondly, in our view, it would be best to wait for the open beta (and ideally also the first reviews) before making an informed buying choice.

Who are the rivals?

Following the multiplayer showcase on July 31, Battlefield 6 experienced a remarkable rise in global Steam wish lists, climbing to 15th place.

The launch is set for October 10, 2025, on PS5, PC (via Steam, Epic, or EA App), and Xbox Series X and S. Last-generation consoles will not be supported.

Battlefield 6 will face competition this year from CoD Black Ops 7 and Arc Raiders.
