So, without any delay, let’s dive right into the most thrilling Steam releases of the week.

Spotlight of the week: RimWorld – Odyssey

(Genre: Build-up sandbox – Developer: Ludeon Studios – Release: July 11, 2025 (Steam))

After a prolonged wait, the moment has finally arrived: Ludeon Studios presents Odyssey, the fifth expansion for their celebrated sci-fi building game Rimworld. This addon shatters all previous limits and elevates your colony into the sky.

At the core of Odyssey is constructing your own gravship – a flying base that doubles as a mobile residence and transportation method. No longer tethered to a specific spot, you can traverse the entire planet, land wherever you choose, and explore over 40 new biomes. From luminous mushroom forests to war-torn relics, completely fresh environments filled with exotic creatures await your exploration.

However, the adventure doesn’t conclude on the planet’s surface: Your gravship can ascend into orbit, where you can scour abandoned space stations and asteroids for valuable tech. During this journey, an ancient machine intelligence stirs in space – a new menace that adds further thrill to your expeditions.

The Sims 4: Magic of Nature (DLC): In this fresh expansion for the life simulation title, the focus is all about a lifestyle intertwined with nature and a hint of magic. You can concoct your own healing potions using gathered herbs and mushrooms at the apothecary’s table, remedy your Sims’ bizarre ailments as a naturopath, and live entirely in tune with nature in the picturesque new village of Innisgreen.

Mycopunk (Early Access): What if mushrooms posed the greatest threat to the galaxy? In this quirky co-op shooter from Devolver, you play as junky combat robots tasked with purging an entire planet of an aggressive fungal invasion. Up to four players navigate through fast-paced missions, accumulate upgrades for their weapons and abilities, and transform slimy spore monsters into sludge. Perhaps a treat for fans of Deep Rock Galactic?

Every Day We Fight (Early Access): The alien groundhog greets you daily – in this turn-based tactical roguelite, you and your team find yourselves trapped in a time loop. Humans and alien invaders are locked in a ceaseless conflict that resets each morning. The gameplay blends traditional XCOM strategy with procedural missions and permanent upgrades: you face off against hostile aliens turn by turn, enhancing your soldiers and weapons through many loops in an effort to ultimately break free from the time loop curse.

Ground of Aces (Early Access): Here you’re not battling on the front lines but instead managing an entire airbase during World War II. This construction simulation places you in the commander’s role responsible for a British airfield during the Battle of Britain. You build hangars and defenses, dispatch your squadrons into daring aerial combat, and must safeguard your base from assaults.

Kickflip, manual, revert – all the classic tricks are ready for action.

PATAPON 1+2 REPLAY: Pata-pata-pata-pon! This remaster collection brings the PSP classics Patapon 1 & 2 finally to PC (and current consoles). The outcome is a wonderfully quirky blend of rhythm game, strategy, and charming visuals.

STRIDEN (Early Access): Here, Escape from Tarkov converges with Scandinavian end-time chaos. Striden is a multiplayer extraction shooter that immerses you in a war-torn Northern Europe.
