Stardew Valley Creator ConcernedApe Potentially Interested in Hytale
Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone, the famed creator of Stardew Valley, has shown potential interest in the recently scrapped game Hytale. Recognized for developing Stardew Valley by himself, Barone has attained legendary status within the indie game scene. His farming simulator is acclaimed as one of the finest indie games, playing a crucial role in the rise of farming simulation games. Now, ConcernedApe might contribute to bringing Hytale back to life.
Hytale, developed by the team behind Minecraft’s “Hypixel” server, sparked considerable excitement when it was announced. The game drew inspiration from Minecraft and integrated RPG features from the Hypixel server. Despite obtaining considerable funding and being taken over by Riot Games, Hypixel Studios declared the cancellation of Hytale after a ten-year development period. Nevertheless, an indie developer may step forward to rescue the game.
As reported by GamesRadar, ConcernedApe has indicated tentative interest in Hytale. In a discussion with content creator Myne, Barone conveyed his curiosity about the game but highlighted the necessity for more details before making a commitment. He expressed a desire to understand Hytale’s status, including the studio’s strategy and the reasons behind the game’s cancellation. In addition to Stardew Valley, Barone is engaged in his new project, Haunted Chocolatier.
Although ConcernedApe’s participation in Hytale is not yet verified, his expertise could be immensely beneficial. Stardew Valley has undergone regular updates, introducing significant content since its release. Barone’s knowledge encompasses various facets of game development, having personally created all of Stardew Valley’s artwork and music.
Should ConcernedApe become involved in Hytale’s development, it could further enhance his already remarkable legacy. Stardew Valley recently reached a milestone on Steam, achieving a 98% positive review rating, rendering it the highest-rated indie game on the platform. Hytale enthusiasts are hopeful that Barone could breathe new life into the game after its cancellation.
