The Outer Worlds 2 is slated for launch on October 29, 2025, in a Standard Edition for €80 and a Premium Edition for €100. The more costly version provides, among other features, early access to the game up to five days prior to the general release and the initial two DLCs.
However, the game will also be available in Microsoft’s Game Pass subscription at launch.
## Microsoft keeps leading the charge
While The Outer Worlds 2 marks Xbox’s first $80 game, Microsoft has already applied the price hike. Bethesda’s recent first-person shooter, Doom: The Dark Ages, was launched just over a month ago with a standard edition price of $80.
It is anticipated that forthcoming new releases in the AAA category will increasingly see price hikes. While Sony remains cautious with its own titles, Nintendo has already begun to raise costs.
In alignment with the new console, Mario Kart World is available as the premier game for the Switch 2, which will be priced at €80 upon its launch.
