CDPR has announced that the next-gen update for The Witcher 3 is arriving on December 14. “The next-gen update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is coming on December 14th, free for everyone who already owns the game,” the company announced on Twitter.

After delaying the update from the end of 2021, CDPR announced in May that it would release in Q4 of 2022.

With this update, the game is getting FSR 2.1 and DLSS 3 support which is bringing a bunch of technical improvements like ray-tracing, improved screen space reflections, improved foliage, better textures, and more. This will give users a whole new look at the game’s open world. The next-gen update also brings a new perspective for players to enjoy the game. With the alternative camera option, players will be able to change their perspective and enjoy the game in a whole new way.

CDPR has also added a new photo mode, integrated some community favorite mods, and brought cross-progression to the game as well. Players are also getting a new quest to craft new gear for Geralt.
