The Lachmann-556 Assault Rifle is a well balanced weapon that is worth getting your hands on. Here’s our suggested build for it.

The Lachmann-556 is an Assault Rifle within Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. It is pretty well-balanced weapon that can easily compete with the best in its class in-game. Below you will find a quick guide on how to unlock the Lachmann-556 in MW2 as well as what we think are the best attachments to put on it.

How to unlock the Lachmann-556 in MW2

The Lachmann-556 is fairly easy to unlock in Modern Warfare 2. Due to the new weapon progression system put in by Infinity Ward, the AR falls under the Lachmann & Meer weapon platform. Which means there are a couple of things you will need to do before you can get your hands on the Lachmann-556.

First of all, you will need to unlock the Lachmann-762 Battle Rifle, to do so you need to reach Level 16 in-game.

From there you will need to level the gun all the way to up to Level 13; which is when you will gain access to the Lachmann-556 weapon receiver. By unlocking this particular weapon you will also be able to work towards unlocking the Rapp H LMG as well as the Lachmann Sub.

The best attachments for the Lachmann-556

Here you will find our list of recommended attachments we think you should be running on the Lachmann-556 in MW2. These suggestions are purely opinion-based so if you find something that works better for you then feel free to ignore these ones.

The best attachments for the Lachmann-556 are as follows:

  • Barrel: Lachmann Nova
  • Underbarrel: Operator Foregrip
  • Rear Grip: LMK64 Grip
  • Stock: Lachmann S9 Factory
  • Laser: FSS OLE-V Laser

As with most of the Assault Rifles in MW2, the iron sights for the Lachmann-556 are pretty good on their own. Which means you don’t have to bother putting on a reflex sight if you don’t want to use one. While it is already pretty accurate in medium to long range fights, these attachments will allow it to be even better.

The Lachmann Nova Barrel paired with the Operator Foregrip will increase the rifle’s effectiveness at range whilst greatly reducing the recoil. And the rest of the attachments will make it so you stand a better chance in close range fights with an SMG with the heighten ADS speed as well the Sprint-to-Fire speed.
