In Assassin’s Creed Origins, there’s a scene where the protagonist – Bayek of Siwa – drops a small eagle’s skull onto a sandy beach. Upon picking it up again, the player is shown the imprint left in the sand by the base of the skull – it’s the Assassin’s Creed logo. If you look at the base of an eagle’s skull, you’ll notice quite clearly how the shape of the bones makes up the emblem of the Assassin Brotherhood.

It’s very clever, as eagles are synonymous with assassins in this series. They’re a symbol of freedom, they’re tools that are used to scout areas, and they’re ever-present figures in almost every game. That means they’re flying around, they’re companions, and every time a ‘Leap of Faith’ is completed in the game, we hear an eagle’s cry. Even the game’s unique ‘sight’ ability that reveals enemies was called ‘Eagle Vision’ for a while.

What’s The Best Assassin’s Creed Logo?

It’s a subjective argument, as every game has its own variation of the logo. For instance, Syndicate featured an industrialised version to reference the era it was set in, and Black Flag featured a skull to mimic the symbology worn on pirate flags. In truth, there is no ‘best’ logo, and everyone has their own opinion on which one ranks above the others.

In the hearts of many long-term fans of the franchise, the original Assassin’s Creed logo is the best. Personally, as a huge fan of the series, I’ve got the original emblem tattooed on my arm, along with the creed itself:
