League of Legends is in its 14th year of existence, ever since it went live back in 2009. Throughout the years, Riot has made constant changes to the game, adding champions and bringing updates to make the game refreshing. Learning and mastering all these characters takes time. Riot has a system that unlocks champions with Blue Essence, but getting all of them requires a lot of playtime.

Luckily for newcomers and those who do not wish to spend money to get the champions, Riot gives players the chance to try most of them with the weekly champion rotation, allowing them to test out the given champion for free.

Currently, the developers allow you to have a minimum of 16 free champions each week. For this week, we have a total of 23 champions to try out, so it’s the perfect occasion to get some more games played.

The free champion rotation switches up every week on Tuesday, so make sure to come and check out which ones you can try on Summoners’ Rift for the given week.

Best champions to play in this week’s free rotation

League of Legends is an extremely dynamic game, where patches can make certain strategies or champions stronger than others. By looking at the current weekly rotation, we are going to break down the strongest champions to play, one per role.

  • Top – Camille
  • Jungle – Ekko
  • Mid – Talon
  • ADC – Jinx
  • Support – Lulu

If you’re looking for a champion to carry as a top laner this week, we recommend Camille. She received an indirect buff from one of her items, and she’s one of the best dueling champions out there. Not to mention she scales incredibly well into the late game.

If you want to smash people as a jungler, instead, go for Ekko. He’s been ramping up in popularity as one of the strongest AP carry junglers, having one of the best snowball potential and insane back line access. What makes him better than others is his ability to go back in time and use his ultimate to get out of tricky situations if needed, making him hard to punish.

For mid lane, we recommend playing Talon this week. There aren’t a lot of mid lane choices for the week and while you can also play Ekko in the mid lane, Talon is performing much better thanks to the new lethality items. His damage surged heavily with his new build and he’s able to snowball better and maintain the lead without falling off. If you want to spend some time playing one champion, he will be worth the challenge.

There are quite a few choices for ADCs this week, but you’d always want to go for Jinx. Not only is she popular thanks to the Arcane but she has been generally strong within the League environment. She is one of the strongest late-game carries and has the potential of taking over fights as soon as she gets a takedown and the reset from her passive. Be ready to blow teams up with her.

To round off the list, we have Lulu for support. This is one of the most versatile and enjoyable champions to play in the support role, with the ability to peel and protect her allies. It’s relatively easier to understand and she always brings value to the team, whether she’s ahead or behind. Not to mention she synergizes a lot with both Jinx and Kog’Maw, which are also free this week.

These are our recommendations for the week! That said, feel free to try everyone out: maybe you’ll find a special chemistry with other champions! We’ll be back next week to see who you can try in the following LoL free champion rotation!
