Super Smash Bros is far and away one of the best fighting games. It’s a huge franchise that pushes the entire genre forward. As a platform fighter though, it enjoyed a lot more space from competition for most of its life than 2D fighters. More recently, a few devs have made attempts to actually put together a Smash Bros killer, a platform crossover fighter from different source material. The latest of these looks set to be Disney Domination, Disney Smash Bros leaks say this might be a crossover fighter from Disney.

Disney Domination leaks have been all over the internet and we know quite a bit about this big upcoming fighting game.

What is Disney Domination?

According to recent Disney Smash Bros leaks, it’s a big new fighting game currently in development. The title is going to be a platform fighter, released in 2024. It’s a style of game popularized by Smash Bros. More recently, titles Nick All-Star and MultiVersus have attempted to apply the same crossover format to franchises owned by Nickelodeon and Warner Bros respectively. The Disney Smash Bros leaks point towards the mouse having a crack at the same concept.

This week, a major leak has hit for a Disney platform fighter. It’s going to be a Smash Bros game that draws from all Disney properties. That’s traditional animation like Dumbo, Pixar characters, even Marvel and Star Wars. Although, some sources are suggesting it’ll feature Square Enix characters too.

The leaks we’ve seen so far have since been taken down. However, they included characters like Buzz Lightyear, Spider-Man, Goofy and more. For some reason, some of those characters were discussing Peter Griffin from Family Guy too!

The leaks seem pretty credible at the moment. This would be an insane leak to fake. The screenshots were of a very high quality. Even if their content was leaning on the meme potential for this kind of crossover, it was pretty in line with what we’d expect from a self-aware Disney Smash Bros game.

Can the Disney Smash Bros Game Take on Nintendo’s Platform Fighter?

These new leaks feel a lot like the early days of MultiVersus. Weird characters mashed up together are shown off in leaked screenshots, before it all turns out to be true. MultiVersus had a lot of early success. MultiVersus eventually shut down when developers couldn’t live up to their promises of support.

Disney Smash Bros leaks suggest the game that’s properly supported could definitely become a real competitor to the Switch fighting game. If it can take on Smash comes down to how the game is designed. While it could casual or competitive, Smash has a delicate balance. However, there’s also support. While achievable, a lot of work needs to be put into fostering fighting game esports for a new game. As a casual fighter though, Disney Domination has a lot of potential.
