A new Apex Legends event to rival the ALGS has just been announced but with a bit of a twist to its format. The HER Galaxy Woman’s Apex Legends series is a huge new event to try and bring more women into esports for the Battle Royale.

This is a lengthy series that’s going to be running for two whole months. It has a huge prize pool too, with $100,000 on offer for players across the event. This tournament joins recent woman’s only events for Rocket League and more in adding more opportunities for a wider base of players in esports.

HER Galaxy Woman’s Apex Legends Event

The HER Galaxy event is a new tournament that’s starting off pretty soon. In total, there’s going to be a prize pool of $250,000 across all of the events. The current plans are to run seven different events in 2023, with an Apex Legends one happening soon. These will take place over 8 days of broadcasts spanning most of the year.

These events are limited to woman-identifying players. It gives them the chance to compete with other high-level players in a way that’s often not possible with the standard Apex Legends esports.

The tournament series is being put on by Galaxy Racer and EA, as a woman’s Apex Legends alternative to the standard branch of competitive for the Battle Royale. Developers behind the game are also contributing, by adding $40K to the HER Galaxy Charity Creator Cup.

How Can Players Take Part?

The event starts off for the HER galaxy woman’s Apex Legends event pretty soon. There are still a few more days left for registration though. Players have until April 18th to sign up through the official webpage for the tournament. Then, the tournament itself starts.

The first official dates for the tournament are going to be Play-in Day. These will be opening qualifying rounds, played on April 28 and 29. We then head into a closer bracket with a lower round on May 19. Then an upper on May 20, and a second for the lower bracket on June 24. The finals are the next day on June 25th. Tournaments like this add a bit more to the schedule for Apex. While the ALGS is in full swing, this will be a different type of esport event for the game that’s still worth checking in on around the big circuit’s events.
