Publisher Electronic Arts is partnering with Koei Tecmo to develop the “next great hunting game.” According to the press release, it’ll be a “truly AAA experience based in fantasy feudal Japan” and will be developed by Koei Tecmo’s Omega Force, known for hack and slash titles Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors.

Jeff Gamon, General Manager of EA Partners said, “Building on the incredible success of EA Originals, which includes the recent releases of It Takes Two and Knockout City™, we’re thrilled to be partnering with the amazingly talented Omega Force team. They’ve elevated the hunting genre to the next level, merging their proven talent for combat gameplay with unexpected and innovative mechanics. We can’t wait to introduce their groundbreaking new adventure to the world later this month.”

While details about the game are scarce, we can expect something similar to the Monster Hunter series where players either go solo or team up with others to fight massive monsters. We also don’t know the platforms it’ll release on but Electronic Arts says they will release more details about the title later this month.
