Diablo 4 is holding an Open Beta for anyone interested in trying out the action role-playing game before its release on June 6, 2023 . As is often the case these days, pre-orderers will be allowed to start the open beta earlier. Start times: When does the beta run?

In total, there will not only be one beta for Diablo 4, but two. On each of the two weekends, you will be able to hunt monsters in Sanctuary ahead of time. However, only the second weekend is open to everyone, on the first weekend only pre-orderers can play.

Pre-Order Beta

• When do we start? On Friday, 17 March 2023 at 18:00.
• When does it end? On Monday, 20 March 2023 at 21:00

Open Beta for all

• When does it start? On Friday, 24 March 2023 at 6:00 p.m.
• When does it end? On Monday, 27 March 2023 at 21:00

Access: Who gets into the beta?

Open Beta: As the name might suggest, anyone can participate in the open beta. No matter on which platform. The beta is taking place on PC, as well as PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. However, the open beta will only run for one weekend.

Pre-orderers get longer: Pre-orders for Diablo 4 are already underway on Battle.net, and those who buy one of the three editions of Diablo 4 now will get a second weekend on top of that, making a total playtime of eight days.

However, not all pre-orderers will be allowed into this beta. Apparently Blizzard is also distributing additional beta codes that will allow you to jump into the role-playing game on the first weekend.

Important: Actual playtime in the beta is without guarantee, as downtime due to technical issues cannot be ruled out.

Content: What is playable in the Open Beta?

The beta is mainly for you to try out the early game of Diablo 4. The prologue and the first act are available to you on both beta weekends. You can also level up several characters, but you can only reach a maximum of level 25  Which is definitely enough to unlock large parts of the talent tree and test the ultimate ability of your class.

What is there to see in the first act?

Diablo 4 will be an open world game unlike its predecessors, so the act structure will work differently than before. The first three acts are available in parallel, but each takes place in a different area of the world. So when they talk about Act 1, Blizzard means the first area called Fractured Peaks

You will be able to fully explore this region, master dungeons in it and also liberate fortresses. In addition, a world boss is said to roam the area, which you can defeat together with other players to grab especially valuable loot.

What”s not to see?

Since you can only reach level 25 at the most, some mechanics from the end game of Diablo 4 are still closed to you. These include things like the big paragon board, but also special open-world activities like the whisper of the dead and the fields of hate. So there will be no PvP.

Which classes will be playable?

On the first weekend, pre-orderers and other lucky owners of a beta code will be able to try out the three classes Barbarian, Sorceress and Huntress . On the second weekend you can also play Summoner and Druid  You can create a total of 10 characters with your account, so you have the opportunity to try out every single class.

Can I play in co-op?

In the beta it is already possible to team up with other heroes to free Sanctuary from demons. You can either explore the Fractured Peaks in four-person co-op or play on consoles in couch co-op. The latter is also only possible in the closed beta with a beta code, a second player can also play with you without pre-access.

Will my progress be saved?

Your characters cannot be taken into the finished game, they will be deleted at the end of the beta. However, the progress from the Early Access weekend will be preserved for the Open Beta one week later. So you can play both weekends with the same character

In addition, playing the beta will unlock three rewards that you will then receive at the release of Diablo 4:

• Title Initial Casualty: is earned when you reach Kyovashad with a character.
• Title Early Voyager: earned when you reach level 20 with a character.
• Beta Wolf Backpack (Cosmetic Item): is earned when you reach level 20 with a character.

How do I redeem my beta code?

If you want to enter the closed beta from 17 to 20 March, there are two options: Pre-order or get a beta code. If you pre-order, you don”t have to worry about anything else. The beta will simply become available on your platform. However, if you have received a code, you will need to redeem it first. Here”s how:

Redeeming instructions

• Go to (diablo.com/beta) and log in to your Battle.net account.
• Copy your code into the input field and select your preferred platform and region.
• Then click the Redeem button, but make sure you”ve chosen the right platform.
• Now a confirmation page should pop up accepting your code.
• Now it”s time to wait for Blizzard to email you another code. You can then redeem this code in the store of your desired platform. On the PC, for example, in Battle.net.

Then you just have to wait until the beta officially starts and you can download Diablo 4.
