What would make the open world game even better? The GlobalESporNews editorial team has clear wishes for features and DLCs.

It”s been a few weeks since the release of Hogwarts Legacy. The open world game is a complete success for developer Avalance Software! Not only the community is already busy discussing which future features and DLCs would make the game even better. From small quality-of-life improvements to big expansion wishes with new areas and story content, everything is being discussed.

Our editors are also in the throes of Hogwarts fever, but they think that the game should definitely add these DLC features!

Student exchange DLC, broom calibration and improved transmog

I actually wanted to write down here the much expressed wish of a Quiddich DLC. However, as I felt my broom steered more like a floating tank while playing, my wishes are therefore: better broom control, not having to readjust my transmog every time I change outfits, and a DLC where we pay a visit to either Beauxbatons or Durmstrang.

More info on the two schools is something I”ve already missed a lot in the books and films. Therefore, in my eyes, it would be a fantastic opportunity to be able to explore them as DLC content, because there are hardly any guidelines. So the developers could develop freely.

I wouldn”t even care if it went to France or Eastern Europe. I just want to learn more about these schools and fall in love with every detail of the game world as I did with Hogwarts Castle.

More magical beasts!

Even back when I first read Harry Potter, I was more interested in the magical creatures than anything else. The fact that I can raise and care for them myself in Hogwarts Legacy is great! But I wish there were many more creatures!

For example, what about the totally boring flubberworms? I imagine that would be so fun, just growing a patch full of slimy creepy crawlies to nibble away at my magical cabbages. Or, if you want to get a little more exciting: Bring on the explosive firecracker toads!

They didn”t even make it into the films – tragic in my eyes. Also, I”d like to have kappas, kelpies, manticores, fire salamanders, bicorns ….

Don”t get me wrong, I like single player games. Especially when they manage to cleverly chase me through a rollercoaster of emotions in an immersive world, garnished with a great soundtrack and lots of fascinating visuals.

But it”s really great when I can share the excitement and fun directly with someone, when we open up such a world together and beat (or conjure) nasty enemies to the ground together. The Harry Potter films and books all tell of friends who stick together and whose different skills are needed to solve problems: Harry may be the hero of the story, but without Hermione”s knowledge and Ron”s devotion, he would simply have failed at some points in his story.

Hogwarts Legacy unfortunately makes us the wizarding egg-laying lizard that can do just about anything, but for that we are all too often on our own except for the tasks we receive from fellow students. I would rather experience the world of Hogwarts Legacy together with friends, knock down crunchy bosses, visit each other”s wishing rooms – actually, a Hogwarts Legacy MMO would be a great thing!

But I remain modest and would “only” like a multiplayer mode that I don”t have to painstakingly and error-pronely add to the game via a mod. Hovering together at Zonkos for a bit, knocking down nasty poachers and roaming through the wild landscape would be just my thing, and I”m sure that of a few others as well.

A lesson plan and a simple morality system

Hogwarts is a school. And not just any school. A school where one wrong step on a disappearing staircase step could possibly mean an early death by broken neck.

Not to mention the werewolves, spiders and dark wizards in the forest. And that”s exactly why there are so many rules at Hogwarts! Even if it”s just something banal like: Please come to class on time.

This is a point that I personally totally miss in Hogwarts Legacy. I would like to know every day what lessons would actually be on my schedule. Whether I attend them or not, I can still decide for myself. But such rule-breaking should have consequences. From a point deduction for the house to detention, a lot of things would be conceivable. Such a mechanism should be optional, so that not everyone has to follow it.

Please give me a photo mode!

There are many little things I would like to see in Hogwarts Legacy: saveable Transmog outfits, skippable cutscenes during Merlin”s exams, the ability to change seasons, and on and on. But my biggest wish is a photo mode!

Because Hogwarts Legacy just looks fantastic! I so often stop and change the time of day several times to capture the beautiful landscapes and buildings in every light. Of course, by hiding the UI, I can simulate some kind of photo mode. There is only one problem with this: my character.

I don”t know what lazy magic is at work there. But as soon as I leave the character editor with my average looking witch, she mutates into a toad with sunken cheeks, dark circles under her eyes and a panicked look.

So a photo mode would be perfect so that my screenshots aren”t always ruined by my character. Add to that some cool poses with the wand or the fancy capes and I”d be happy as a clam! Well, not quite. Quidditch, for example, would also be quite cool …
