Earlier this year, the Swedish developer Liquid Swords unveiled “Samson,” an open world beat ’em up game reminiscent of the GTA style, focusing on themes like managing debt, navigating robust yet worn-out vehicles, and rescuing your sister. Despite its captivating concept, the game met with a poor response, including from reviewers, mainly owing to its plethora of bugs and technical glitches at launch. The developers recognized these complications and issued multiple patches in an effort to rectify the game’s unacceptable launch condition. These updates sought to resolve critical bugs and enhance gameplay features, such as altering street races to provide greater rewards. Nevertheless, these initiatives proved inadequate in revitalizing the game’s success. The persistent problems and disappointing reception eventually resulted in Liquid Swords declaring bankruptcy, signifying a disheartening conclusion for the developer and their ambitious endeavor.
