The month of September has arrived and with it, a new season of Pokémon GO. As with every new month, the raids have changed. After a year-long absence, Zacian and Zamazenta returned in August but have disappeared again, perhaps for a long time.

The new month is largely kept secret right now, but eventually all will be known about what new Pokémon will be available for the Season of Light. Here’s what the raid schedule currently looks like.

Pokémon GO Raid schedule

Five-star Legendary Raids

September 1-13

For 13 days, the different forms of Deoxys will be available in five star raids. That means Speed Forme, Attack Forme, Defense Forme and Normal Forme will all be available to trainers who can defeat it.

Doing so will require a lot of teamwork and having an effective team of Pokémon. Deoxys, all forms, is a Psychic-type Pokémon. This makes it weak to Ghost, Bug and Dark type Pokémon. Try using Darkrai, Umbreon, Pinsir, Shedinja, Armaldo, Absol, Honchkrow, Sableye and Obstagoon for the best results.

Moreover, all forms of Deoxys can be shiny.

September 13-27

After September 13, the different forms of Deoxys will retreat once again. Right now, Niantic has not announced what will be replacing it. They have confirmed there will be two Pokémon available during that time, but have remained mum on what. This guide will be updated when that information is available.

September 27- October 8

Yveltal will make its long awaited return to a Pokémon GO Raid. It is a Dark/Flying dual type Pokémon, leaving it weak to Fairy, Electric, Rock and Ice types. For the easiest time defeating Yveltal, try Sylveon, Jolteon, Alolan Golem, Beartic, Regirock, Tyranitar, Aurorus, Regice, Alolan Ninetales and Glaceon.

Additionally, Yveltal can be shiny.

Pokémon GO Mega Raids

  • September 1-6: Mega Ampharos will be available for the first portion of September. It is a Dragon/Electric dual type Pokémon, making it weak to Dragon, Fairy and Ice type moves. For this, try Pokémon like Charizard, Kyurem, Alolan Ninetales, Mamoswine, Avalugg, Clefable, Zacian, Mega Altaria and Glaceon.
  • September 6-12: For the first time in Pokémon GO, Mega Alakazam will make its debut. It is a Psychic type just like Alakazam. That makes it weak to Bug, Dark and Ghost type moves. To effectively take it down, try using Mismagius, Pinsir, Weedle, Drifblim, Sableye, Scrafty and Malamar.
  • September 13- 27: Much like the Legendary, the Mega Raid for this time period is unknown. This will be updated when it is.
  • September 27- October 8: Mega Lopunny will be in Mega Raids for the end of the month. It is a Normal/Fighting type, making it weak to Flying, Psychic and Fighting type Pokémon. It will be easiest to defeat with Zamazenta, Galarian Zapdos, Medicham, Gallade, Braviary and Mewtwo.

Three-star raids

  • Jolteon is an Electric type, which means Ground type moves will be super effective against it. Use Hippowdon, Donphan, Drilbur and Flygon to make short work of it. It cannot be shiny.
  • Alolan Raichu is a Psychic/Electric type Pokémon, so it is weak to Dark, Ground, Ghost and Bug types. Try Mismagius, Pinsir, Donphan, Shedinja and Hippowdon. Alolan Raichu can be shiny.

Alolan Raichu

  • Galarian Weezing will be showing up in three-star raids this month. It is a Fairy/Poison type Pokémon, making it weak to Steel, Psychic and Ground. For the best time, use Pokémon like Steelix, Hippowdon, Melmetal, Mawile, Bronzong, Metagross and Mewtwo. It can be shiny.
  • Girafarig is a Psychic/Normal type, making it weak to Bug and Dark type Pokémon. It will be most effectively defeated by Weedle, Mismagius, Banette, Drifblim and Malamar. Fortunately, it can be shiny.

One-star Pokémon GO Raid

Espurr

Additionally, Espurr is a Psychic type, leaving it vulnerable to Dark, Bug and Ghost moves. Use Gengar, Drifblim, Scyther, Pinsir, Banette and Weedle to effectively defeat it. It can be shiny.

Gothita

Furthermore, Gothita is also a Psychic type, leaving it susceptible to Dark, Bug and Ghost moves. For this raid, use Mismagius, Banette, Spiritomb, Shedinja and Jellicent. It cannot be shiny.

Ralts

Ralts, like the previous two, is also a Psychic type, leaving it weak to Dark, Bug and Ghost Pokémon. Ultimately, trainers should use Drifblim, Mightyena, Sableye, Scrafty, Bisharp and Malamar. Ralts can be shiny.

Shinx

Furthermore, Shinx is an Electric type Pokémon, so it will be most affected by Ground types. Moreover, Dugtrio, Groudon, Claydol, Krookodile and Golurk will work well. It can be shiny.

Solosis

Finally, Solosis is yet another Psychic type Pokémon. It is weak to Dark, Ghost and Bug type moves. To effectively defeat it, use Beedrill, Kricketune, Accelgor, Shedinja, Dusknoir, Cofagrigus and Spiritomb. Unfortunately, Solosis cannot be shiny.

Additionally, the one and three-star raids are subject to change throughout the month. However, those raids are easier to beat. Ultimately, it is less imperative to have a perfect counter for them.
