In a continuation of CPU tradition, AMD has unveiled a new fastest-ever gaming processor to succeed their previous fastest-ever gaming processor. The latest entrant, revealed at CES 2026, is the Ryzen 7 9850X3D, which indeed retains the same architecture, socket, core and thread counts, and power usage rating as the former heavyweight, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. It primarily features a higher maximum boost clock, increased from 5.2GHz to 5.6GHz, which provides it with a performance advantage.
