James Ohlen, who has been a creative director and lead designer at Bioware for many years, is resigning from his position as studio head at Archetype Entertainment. Ohlen was a co-founder of Archetype in 2019, and the studio is in the process of creating its first game, “Exodus,” a sci-fi shooter inspired by Mass Effect. The game boasts distinctive features, including duels with space bears and interactions with appreciative frogs, and has sparked interest since it was revealed. A new trailer was recently presented at the Geoff Awards, and “Exodus” is now set for release in early 2027. As Ohlen steps away, the Archetype Entertainment team will concentrate on refining and fine-tuning the game in advance of its launch.
