Tribe Gaming make it through the lower bracket to become the CoD Mobile World Champions

After a tremendous year with back-to-back victories in tournaments, Tribe Gaming were looking to close out the year with a victory at the CoD Mobile World Championship Finals 2022 as well. In the Group Stage, where they even managed to triumph over China’s Q9, they looked set to complete that run for glory.

However, they were stopped in their tracks in the first match of the Playoffs. Up against the Chinese mammoths Wolves Esports, Tribe Gaming lost the intense best-of-five series with a close score of 3-2.

This made them one of the first four teams to fall to the Lower Bracket of the World Championship. However, the North American champions didn’t lose faith and cruised through in the Lower Bracket.

They won their first two matches with a scoreline of 3-0 against STMN and Omega to make it to the lower bracket semifinal. Here, they were again up against Wolves Esports, who had knocked them to the lower bracket earlier in the Playoffs. However, Tribe showed why they are one of the best in the world this time and got their revenge. They took the series 3-0 to knock Wolves out of the competition.

Tribe Gaming vs Luminosity: An intense Final

Tribe completed their run through the lower bracket to face fellow NA representatives Luminosity Gaming in the grand finals of the CoD Mobile World Championship 2022.

This wasn’t the first encounter between the two teams in the past month. In November, they were up against each other in the Mobile Mayhem 2022 Fall North America. At the time, Tribe absolutely dominated to clutch the series 4-1. Hoping for a repeat of that in the Grand Finals, however, Luminosity wasn’t going to make it so easy. Starting the series with a 1-0 deficit for being in the lower bracket, Tribe looked almost set to do a near clean sweep with victories on the Hardpoint, Search and Destroy, and Control modes.

Luminosity weren’t going to go down without a fight, though, and started in the comeback in the next two series in the Hardpoint and Search and Destroy modes. They took convincing victories in both games taking the series to a game seven on the Control mode with Luminosity looking to have the upper hand.

However, Tribe got the final woohoo with a 3-2 victory to become the CoD Mobile world champions. They will walk away with $700,000 of the $1.7 million prize pool while Luminosity will get $280,000.
