
Crack open Kaizen like a one-time-use camera, and you’ll discover that the components within are quite akin to a specific category of puzzle game known as Sokoban. Originating in the late 80s, these games place you in the role of a laborer moving crates around a warehouse floor until they settle into their assigned spots. These sliding puzzles, where you maneuver items around a space, are prevalent across gaming. Each time you are pushing a large stone block in Tomb Raider, you owe a slight nod to Sokoban’s inventor Hiroyuki Imabayashi.
