The CyberMP mod has been in development since 2021. Now the first gameplay footage is available – and it looks impressive.

End, over and done After three and a half years, no one at CD Projektis working on Cyberpunk 2077 anymore. It’s a different story in the modding scene.A single modder has been developing a multiplayer mode for the role-playing game for three years. The mod, called CyberMP, includes a deathmatch mode and allows players to explore Night City together with friends.

Originally, an official multiplayer mode had been announced for Cyberpunk 2077.However, developer CD Projekt scrapped the plans for this. The reason for this was the disastrous launch of the game at the end of 2020. According to the developer itself, it was forced to focus on other aspects of the game at the time.

Deathmatch with 14 other players

CyberMP has been in development since 2021 and is currently still in alpha. TheYoutuber JuiceHeadshows in an approximately ten-minute video how the multiplayer in Cyberpunk 2077 plays:

In the video, JuiceHead shows deathmatches with up to 14 other players or races on the streets of Night City, among other things. According to the YouTuber, the characters’ perks worked well and he had no problems with lags

He tested the mod for two days. On the first day, the mod crashed several times. He also reported some other missing features. For example, the NPCs were invisible and there were no third-person animations for the player characters

However, JuiceHead points out that he had already played the mod a few months agoand that the developer had already incorporated some of the player feedback into CyberMP. At the end of the video, the YouTuber has some bad news

JuiceHead emphasizes that there is no co-op mode in the mod.Players will not be able to experience the game’s main story or side quests together, for example. This is not the priority and is not being worked on, according to JuiceHead. There is not yet a specific release date for the CyberMP mod.
