Call of Duty Modern Warfare II (MWII) has a total of 24 achievements available in its campaign. Some MWII achievements are easy to get while some not so much, but they of them are all obtainable. Although, not all of them are solo-player exclusive, as there are a couple co-op missions that need to be completed to get achievements. So without further ado, here’s a full guide on completing the full list of achievements for Call of Duty MWII!
Achievement hunting in MWII is pretty easy with the tools that are available. At the start of the game, you get to choose the difficulty you’ll be playing at. These range from recruit to realism. During or before each mission, you can change the difficulty to suit your playstyle. This allows achievement hunting to be a lot easier than playing on a set difficulty like other games.
So, if you are going for the achievments below, then make sure to play on the recruit difficulty to make your life easier. On top of that, if you ever fumble or mess up during an achievement run, you can always return to the last checkpoint. This saves you tons of time, as you don’t need to restart the whole mission and attempt at the achievement once more.
The main bulk of the available achievements in MWII are pretty self-explanatory in their requirements. Whether that be not triggering any alarms or being seen in stealth missions like Nessie or Nobody was There. There are also achievements you can earn by just playing the game while keeping them in mind. Achievements like Daredevil, Wall of Duty and Backpack Guy all fit this criteria. The full list of these kinds of achievements are below with tips on how to complete them.

The remaining achievements of MWII require a bit more of a explanation on how to acquire them. There are instructions like the previously mentioned ones, but we have some more tips and tricks for these.
These achievements are acquired during the Dark Water mission. A Crappy Way to Die one requires you only to take out the enemy in the porta-potty on the oil rig. It is somewhat time-sensitive, so be sure to shoot him before Alejandro takes him out.
The Don’t Touch the Deck achievement in MWII is a bit on the trickier side. This one requires you to advance 90 meters towards the front of the ship without touching the deck. The simple explanation is to be patient. All the cargo containers that you have to move on are all on cycles. So biding your time rewards you with easy paths. Then, once you reach the end of the cargo section, you’ll need to do some rail parkour to get the achievement. You can check out a more in-depth guide down below.
Call of Duty MW2’s Dark Water has 3 full achievements to get, here’s a guide for the full mission.
There are 3 safes throughout the campaign of MWII, and unlocking all 3 grants you the Gentleman Thief achievement. The first safe is in the El Sin Nombre mission, in Diego’s closet. The combination to it is found on the painting in the cupboard in the bathroom. The code is as follows:
The next 2 codes are both in the “Alone” mission. The first of which is in the coffee shop that you pass through during the mission. You’ll need to first get a pry tool to get into the manager’s office. Once inside, the safe is on the ground next to the desk. The second and last safe in the mission is in the El Maistro garage. The garage is to the right of the road, before the tunnel to the church. You’ll need to crawl under the garage door into the office and the second safe awaits you there. The codes for the safes are as follows:
Here’s how to open all three safes in the Modern Warfare 2 campaign.
The last of the challenging achievements in Call of Duty MWII is Gunless. This achievement requires you to complete the “Alone” mission without firing a gun. This is probably one of the hardest achievements to get in MWII, but it is possible. Essentially, you need to utilize all the items you find throughout the mission to craft the necessary tools. Bottles and smoke grenades specifically are your best friends, as they serve as great distractions or allow you to run past enemies when timed correctly.
The challenge of the achievement really kicks into high gear when you meet up with Ghost at the church. The mission turns into a firefight after the reunion, and not firing your gun poses a problem. So, to finish the mission, you and Ghost need to push up to a nearby truck. To do so and survive, stick beside Ghost as he can fire his weapon. You can also use up Molotovs if you have the materials to craft them.
