Further fuelling the excitement already ripping through the Call of Duty community, Activision has just revealed the Season One roadmap in full. This roadmap uncovers everything coming in the first-ever season of Warzone 2.0 and Modern Warfare II, and what a roadmap it is. From new maps and modes to new operators, and from new weapons to a brand new Warzone platform, this is the most important season of Call of Duty to drop in years.

Fans won’t have to wait long, as the Season One update will drop on the 16th of November, bringing a diverse host of new content to an eagerly awaiting audience. In recent days, we’ve learnt that Modern Warfare II is the most successful Call of Duty title to date, racking up $1 billion in revenue in just ten days. It has been available to play for three weeks, and it’s still sitting at the top of the social and streaming platforms.

And it’s just getting started.

There’s more content coming in the Season One roadmap than in any other season pushed out to date. Firstly, fans will be treated to the launch of the all-new Warzone 2.0 platform, which brings the Al Mazrah map to the world. It’s the most highly anticipated introduction to the Call of Duty universe in years, as fans are desperate to once again enjoy the Warzone ecosystem. When Caldera was introduced in 2021, it almost killed Call of Duty Warzone as a whole.

On the back of Warzone 2.0 sits DMZ, a brand new mode built around an ‘extraction shooter’ model, akin to Escape from Tarkov. In this mode, players will enter the Al Mazrah map, fight, complete tasks, and loot resources, then attempt to extract from the map with their bounty. If they’re killed in the ‘raid’, then they’ll lose everything they brought into the game with them. As you can expect, the introduction of Warzone 2.0 also brings a range of new features, a new gulag, vehicles, and mechanics, all fresh for Season One.

For Modern Warfare II, players will receive updated versions of the classic Shoothouse and Shipment maps. There’s also a new and innovative team-based game mode called Raid that will drop in-season, an added co-op mission, and a CDL Moshpit will be released to celebrate the start of the Call of Duty League.

Content, Content, Content

For Season One, Activision will be bringing into play an entirely new battle pass system, as well as three new operators. We’ll be seeing Messi, Pogba, and Neymar Jr. making an appearance in the game, thanks to the celebratory bundles brought about in recognition of the FIFA World Cup. There are four new weapons popping up: the BAS-P SMG, the Victus XMR sniper, the M13B AR, and the Chimera AR.

Finally, there’s an array of content bundles dropping in the game, and for the festive season, a Santa-themed operator will be made available.

There’s a dizzying amount happening in the coming weeks in the world of Call of Duty. From the launch of Warzone 2.0 to the kick-off LAN event for the Call of Duty League, there’s plenty to keep fans entertained. Recently, it was revealed that Activision potentially leaked a Call of Duty 2023 title, and fans are still reeling from that news.

It’s an unreal time to be a Call of Duty fan.
